Overview
The Helikite Aerostat is a lighter-than-air aircraft that gains its lift through the use of a buoyant gas and considered a tethered balloon . It’s main component a gasbag which is a lightweight skin containing a lifting gas to which the other components are attached via the keel. Payload ranges up to 250 pounds. Aerostat size is determined based upon Mission requirements, Payload size and weight, Ground launch elevation and air temperature, Tether weight, Safety and ground support equipment needed.
